EZELINK Unified Wired and Wireless Networks

It's no secret that in the modern world, mobile technology has completely turned people around about where and how to work. High-performance wireless networks have long ceased to be a luxury for companies and have become a necessity. Despite all this, often a wireless network stands apart from a wired campus network with its equipment, management, its settings and policies.

It's time to change the approach and simplify the work, deployment and administration of wireless networks!

EZELINK Unified Wired and Wireless Network, part of the Carrier-Grade architecture, is called upon to help.

First of all, this solution includes a new line of equipment, namely, wireless access controllers / switches.

Such an implementation is convenient for organizing wireless networks of small and medium scale, as it allows you to build an access network using one device. Such a network will be scalable, since the number of access points supported by the controller can be expanded with licenses to 60 APs (per controller).

As a result, we get:

  • Unified management and policies for LAN and WLAN users
  • single management using IMC;
  • switches with 8 and 24 ports GbE PoE +;
  • Wi-Fi Clear Connect technology for optimizing wireless networks.

For large-scale solutions, the more efficient EZELINK Wired-WLAN controller, which is equipped with gigabit ports, is suitable.

Such a device provides support for up to 512 access points with a centralized bandwidth of 10G. A distinctive feature of older controller models is support for 1 + 1 redundancy with a primary controller malfunction detection time in milliseconds. The availability of hot-backup functionality allows you to save client connections when the main controller fails due to synchronization between the controllers of information about connected clients. Also worth mentioning is the possibility of redundant power supplies.

The device has 12 copper and 12 gigabit SFP interfaces, as well as 4 SFP + interfaces. The controller also has redundancy of power supplies and support for hot-backup technology, which allows for continuous operation of all access points and makes this solution an excellent choice as a central wireless LAN controller for large companies and large-scale implementations.

For large solutions with EZELINK wired network, the controller is also implemented as an Wired-WLAN Module service card.

As the name implies, this module is suitable for chassis switches of the HP 10500 and HP 7500 series. The bandwidth of processing traffic when deploying a centralized architecture of this module is 20G. One module provides support for up to 1024 access points. By increasing the number of such modules in the chassis, you can get 11,264 access points supported by one chassis. Implemented support for the backup of such modules, as well as the functionality of 802.1X hot-backup.

A few  words about the functionality of the HP Unified Wired and Wireless Network:

Wi-Fi Clear Connect - technology of radio frequency optimization, automatic noise suppression and dynamic load balancing, which provides more efficient communication in high-density client environments;

Advanced radio resource management - automatic adjustment of radiation power, channel selection, balancing clients by access points, even distribution of time using the medium between clients
Spectrum Analysis - spectral analysis that allows you to detect interference and avoid it (including not from Wi-Fi devices);

Band Navigation - the ability to redirect clients to the less affected interference range of 5 GHz;
VLAN pooling - the ability to dynamically distribute clients across multiple VLANs within the same SSID;

Policy based forwarding - the ability to create policies that affect the direction of traffic, ACL-based traffic classification, the choice of a centralized or distributed traffic flow direction; similar policies can be applied to an SSID, a group of users, or to a specific user;

Quality of Service (QoS) - classification, polising and prioritization of traffic;

Integrated Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS) - built-in system for detecting wireless intrusions into the network;

Integrated Wireless Intrusion Prevention System (WIPS) - built-in system for preventing wireless intrusions into the network;

Wireless Intelligent Application Aware Feature (WIAA) - built-in firewall that works on SSID or user roles;

NAT / NAT traversal - the ability to translate addresses, as well as support for access points behind NAT;

Fast roaming - of course, fast roaming (including at the 3rd level);

High reliability - the ability of controllers to reserve each other according to various schemes (1 + 1, N + 1, and even N + N);
